The High School Outreach Conference (HSOC) is an annual event hosted at UCSF that aims to get students excited about college and professional programs. We bring together volunteers from various schools at UCSF, including dental, nursing, medical, graduate, pharmacy, and physical therapy programs, to host high school students joining us from all around the Bay Area.

The students begin the day listening to motivational speakers to learn more about the journey to a career in the health sciences, all about financial aid, and more. Throughout the remainder of the day, students have the opportunity to get their hands dirty by participating in hands on demos hosted by each of the professional schools. HSOC is a day for fun, friends, and sparking passion in the next generation of health care providers!

This year, our event will take place on Saturday, April 29, from 8:30 am – 4 pm. This all day event is organized just for high school students, and we would love to have Lowell High School students join us. Last year we hosted over 300 students to learn about higher education and get hands on experiences in. You’re welcome to view this video with some more information: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SELJJchKF-k
