Sophomore Physical Education

Course 2

The goal of Physical Education Course 2 is to gain skill acquisition and knowledge competency necessary to become a life-long healthy person that will value and maintain health through combatives, gymnastics and team sports.  It is in our best interest for each and every student to have an equal opportunity to learn these skills, so that they may gain a meaningful experience that will carry them into an adulthood of healthiness.  Students explain and apply the skill-related components of balance, reaction time, agility, coordination, explosive power, and speed that enhance performance levels in combatives, gymnastics/tumbling, and team activities.  Students will also identify and achieve levels of excellence in physical fitness that enhances physical and mental performance beyond the health-related standards as established in the State-mandated fitness tests.
