Author Visit to Lowell Friday May 4, Block 5

Dashka Slater is the author of The 57 Bus, a powerful account of how two youths' lives are brought together by a hate crime - the book examines injustice, equity and perceptions of gender.

Dashka will come to the auditorium Friday May 4 during 5th block to talk about a variety of topics that include journalism, facts, narrative, binaries, gender nonconformity, judicial racism, gun violence, compassion, and the power of stories. Teachers can contact the librarians to sign up their classes or students can ask to be excused from class - ask a librarian for an in-school field trip form.
