Deadline Extended!!! Student Planner Cover Contest

Deadline Extended to Friday April 21st @ 3:45pm.
We are holding an art contest for the cover of the 2017-18 Student Planner!

If you would like to submit artwork, please read on!

If you don’t currently have a Lowell planner, take a look at a sample planner on display in Book to Book to get an idea of how to arrange your art, taking into consideration the wire binding as well as the rounded corners. The dimensions are approximately 8-1/4"h x 4-3/4"w, which does not include the wire binding.

Planner cover art should include "Lowell" or "Lowell High School" and "2017-18" or "2017-2018" somewhere in the design.

For computer-generated artwork:

Image Quality - Resolution of continuous tone images should be at least 300 dpi at the size they are placed in the page layout program.  If the resolution of a file does not meet these standards, the quality of the printed image will be noticeably low.  Bitmap tiffs should be 1200 dpi at the size they are planned in the page layout program.

Image Type - All images should be saved as (CMYK or grayscale) photoshop tiffs, eps, bitmap tiffs, illustrator or freehand eps.  DO NOT SAVE IMAGES AS JPEG (jpg), PICT, GIF or WMF.

Layout Tip - Do not use the "style" menu for bolding a font, italic, or bold italic.  Use the proper version of the font.  Example: If you make a font bold by using the style tool bar and there is no bold version of that font, it will not print bold even though it looks bold on the screen.

For hand-drawn designs: Colors should be BOLD for best results.

Only one submission per student; your original artwork only!

For computer designed artwork, please email it as an attachment to kris@inkpool.net.  Make sure to include your name and reg # in your email.

For hand drawn submissions, please include your name, reg #, and email address in a 2”x2” block in one corner on the back of your artwork and drop it off at Book to Book.

Contest winner will receive a free planner, logo t-shirt, and a $20 B2B Gift Certificate!

All artwork must be submitted by

3:45pm on Friday, April 21st.
